Some DeKalb County residents experienced water service interruption on Feb. 2 due to a water water main break on Covington Highway, but crews completed work.
DeKalb County Watershed crews repaired a 12-inch break in the water main near the intersection of Covington Highway and Wellborn Road. The roadwork went on for several hours from morning until late afternoon.
Though water pressure has been fully restored, there were still customers in the affected area experiencing brown water as of 5 p.m. Feb. 2. Those customers are encouraged to run faucets inside and outside their homes/businesses to clear the internal plumbing.
Traffic controls and a detour are still in place as the restoration work is
completed. Motorists are asked to avoid the area, if possible, and expect traffic delays.
