Scenes from the Dunwoody Homeowners Association’s Fourth of July parade. The annual parade draw hundreds from Dunwoody, Sandy Springs, Doraville, Atlanta and other surrounding communities who watch as local politicians, veterans, business operators and others march down Mount Vernon Highway to celebrate American Independence.
This year, Margaret and Delos Knight were on hand. The Alpharetta couple said they take in a parade somewhere every Fourth of July and have watched parades from California to Georgia in past years.
“We make our business to go to a different Fourth of July parade every year,” Delos said.
“When we heard this was the state’s biggest parade, we had to come,” Margaret said.
