Jim Squire

At the March 2 Sandy Springs City Council meeting, Mayor Eva Galambos nominated Jim Squire to serve on the city’s Board of Appeals. Squire will replace Oswald “Oz” Hill, who resigned from the board after five years.

Squire is franchise advisor for the HoneyBaked Ham Company, which recently relocated a store to Sandy Springs. He also serves as chairman for the Southeast Franchise Forum and chairman emeritus of the Georgia Restaurant Association. Last fall, he ran for the District 1 City Council seat, but lost the race to John Paulson.

The Board of Appeals is a quasi-legal board charged with hearing requests for variances from regulations of the city’s zoning ordinance.
