Sandy Springs was recently awarded a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for an outdoor warning sounding system. The sirens will be used to notify the community of a tornado or severe thunderstorm in combination with a tornado watch.
Before installation can begin, FEMA must conduct a formal review and approval process.
