The Atlanta History Center’s annual holiday program, The Holiday Spirit, is filled with family activities that celebrate the season. Holiday crafts, live music, decorations, theatrical performances, and a visit from Saint Nick are all part of the event. Featured activities include time travel to explore holidays past at Smith Family Farm and Swan House where guests encounter friendly “spirits” from the 1860s and the 1930s. Hours are 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The event is free with general admission.

Dec. 16
Christmas Music Sunday
will be held from 11 a.m. to noon at Decatur Unity Church. There will coffee, treats after and traditional Christmas music with special vocalists. At 10 a.m. learn how life’s changes are useful for spiritual awakening in the transformational adult class, Finding Yourself in Transition. For more information, visit

Dec. 14-16

The Atlanta Foundation for Public spaces and Town Brookhaven are co-sponsoring the final weekend of a Holiday Pop Up Artist Market this weekend. Hours are Fridays from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. There will be 35 artists and handcraft artisans each weekend including painters, photographers, jewelers and more. Town Brookhaven is at 4330 Peachtree Road. Follow the signs for the storefronts hosting the Pop Up market.

Through Dec. 18
Christmas at Callanwolde continues this weekend with cabaret by Libby Whitemore, a class on making holiday appetizers and a chance to see the historic mansion decked out in all its holiday finery. Visit for full schedule of events.
