The city’s Parks and Recreation Department has announced the date for its annual Winter Festival, to be held on Jan. 11 at the Hitson Memorial Activities Center.
According to the announcement, the event will start at 4 p.m. and end at 8 p.m. The center is located at 85 Mount Vernon Highway in Sandy Springs. The event is free and open to the public, the city’s announcement says.
“Festival activities include inside and outside fun,” the city’s announcement says. “Outdoors, in the Hitson Center’s lower parking lot, families will enjoy snow tubing and a snow play area, kiddie train rides and roasting marshmallows. Located inside in the Center’s gym, kids of all ages will have lots of choices: sports games (for ages six and under), inflatable play area, pop a shot basketball, kidszart and face painting, shutter-booth photo fun and inflatable skee ball. What’s a festival without food? Hot cocoa, cider and popcorn provide a tasty snack.”
