• A Sandy Springs traffic officer and the prospective father delivered a baby in the family’s car stuck in traffic on I-285 near Riverside Drive during the Jan. 28 winter storm, Sandy Springs police reported.
  • Officer Tim Sheffield and the new father assisted in the delivery of a baby girl around 5:25 p.m. Jan. 28, Capt. Steve Rose reported. The delivery was done in the parent’s car. EMS personnel arrived moments later.
  • The delivery appeared to have been without complications, Rose said. The child and parents were taken to a hospital.
