Temperatures are expected to be the 60s and 70s this weekend, but the nice weather will be tempered by the return of road work on the interstates. If you’re traveling through Downtown or on Georgia 400, be sure to give yourself a little extra time for the journey.
According to the GDOT, two left northbound lanes of I-85 just north of Downtown will be closed from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday for sign work. On Sunday, two right southbound lanes of I-85 will be closed from the same times in the same area, also for sign work.
Repaving work on I-75/85 northbound near University Avenue will close two right lanes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. Also happening on Saturday, the two right northbound lanes of Georgia 400 will be closed from I-85 to Sidney Marcus Boulevard for continuing work on the new interchange.
