Atlanta Police have stepped up patrols and reminded residents to remove valuables from their cars after a string of car break-ins in Inman Park. According to a report from WSB, cars have been broken into on Waddell Street, Elizabeth Street and DeKalb Avenue. On Sunday night/Monday morning, 16 cars were broken into or damaged in a gated apartment complex parking lot on N. Highland Avenue.
A Fulton County grand jury has indicted the man accused of running down and seriously injuring a bicyclist in June. According to the AJC, Joseph Alan Lewis was indicted for criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated battery, aggravated assault, serious injury by vehicle, hit-and-run, criminal damage to property in the first degree, tampering with evidence, reckless driving, failure to report accident, expired or no license on person, and driving-expired or no license plate or decal. The cyclist, Greg Germani, spent weeks in the hospital suffering from serious injuries including brain trauma. Germani is the creator of the popular website, Atlanta Time Machine.
