The draft conceptual master plans for 10 Brookhaven parks were released by the city this week in response to a Reporter Newspapers public records request. The draft plans can be viewed here.

The City Council is slated to see a presentation about the draft plans at its Dec. 15 afternoon work session.

The city has an overall parks master plan. But 10 parks are receiving detailed attention in the city’s “Site Specific Park Plans” process. The draft master plans for each park were presented in a series of meetings Dec. 5-12. Attendees could view the draft plans at the meetings. However, planning contractor GreenbergFarrow said the draft plans would not be available electronically or online for general public viewing until after the series of meetings is over, and possibly will not be posted online at all. Liz Cole, senior project manager at GreenbergFarrow, expressed concern that the public would be confused by the draft status of the plans.

The 10 parks in the Site Specific process include Ashford, Blackburn, Briarwood, Brookhaven, Clack’s Corner, Fernwood, Georgia Hills, Lynwood, Murphey Candler and Skyland.
