The city of Brookhaven is seeking artists of all ages and skill levels to show up at Blackburn Park on Sept. 17 for its “Paint the Park” event from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Volunteer judges will select the best painting that will then be put on display in City Hall.

Art supplies and paper will be provided but participants are also invited to bring their own easel and canvas.

The idea of the project is for artists to see and paint what they see in the park.

“To illustrate the importance of civic art, once the pieces are completed they will be displayed in the park visible from Ashford-Dunwoody Road until the event closes,” states a press release.

Blackburn Park is located at 3493 Ashford-Dunwoody Road.

For more information, or to volunteer to judge, email or call 404-637-0508.

The rain date, if needed, will be Oct. 15.
