
Brookhaven city council members will hold town hall meetings in each district during the month of February.
District 2 council member Jennifer Owens is holding a virtual community meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 4 from 6 to 7 p.m. It will be broadcast on the city’s Facebook page and Zoom. Owens said topics of discussion will include the Drew Valley paving project, the Caldwell Road and Redding Road intersection improvement project, expansion of the Ashford Park Elementary School zone, and lowering speed limits on Dresden Drive.
District 3 council member Madeleine Simmons is holding a virtual meeting with State Rep. Shea Roberts (Dist. 52), who will provide legislative updates. Elected in 2020, Roberts serves a newly-redistricted area of Brookhaven, Dunwoody, and Sandy Springs. The meeting will be broadcast on Facebook and by Zoom.
District 4 council member John Funny will meet with constituents at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 6 at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1438 Sheridan Road. Topics of discussion will include Lavista Park master planning, MARTA, North Druid Hills Road traffic improvements, and a new affordable housing development on Buford Highway.
Michael Diaz, District 1 council member, had already held a community meeting on Jan. 30.
